One of a Kind Made One at a Time
2022 marks 49th Apparel's triumphant return to the One of a Kind Winter Show in Toronto.
When the world shut down in 2020, we truly missed this incredible opportunity to meet with all you people who value Canadian makers. We pivoted, worked on our website and embraced a world that stayed home in their cozy sleepwear. It's been a long and winding road, but we're ready to get back to OOAK! And this time around, we have a coveted corner booth and a greater pajama selection than ever before. (Stay tuned for our booth number! We find out in November, so be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you'll hear when we announce it!)
Our small-batch pajama production has previously left folks without their favourite colour in just their size. To solve that problem this year, we decided to focus on Pancake Bay Plaid. Rather than many patterns in many colours and just a handful of size mediums (which would always sell out early), we pivoted again and chose three colours: Lake, Sand and Red, with a greater offering of sizes. Although, we are still making small-batch pajamas, and are nowhere near the production size of other flannel pajama companies. This pivot in production will also make it easier to have matching pajamas under the tree this holiday season.
This year, in addition to our always popular Men's Flannel Robe, we will be bringing our new Women's Shawl Collar Robe in Pancake Bay Flannel. Now you can have Canadian Made matching robes for you and your love. Downtown Sault Ste. Marie studio is abuzz with our small team working hard to prepare for the show.
Daryl is choosing which complimentary flannels to bring with the Pancake Bay Collection. It's always difficult to choose which limited collections to include in the show. This Fall (to keep our hearts happy with variety and plaid), we made two very special collections. The Lake Huron Plaid in his and hers nightshirts: Martha and Ebeneezer. The Basswood Plaid Emilia Collection features Pajama Sets and Nightshirts. They are currently available on our website.
Do you think any of our Limited Edition Sleepwear will be left by the time OOAK happens at the end of November?

Thank you for reading our latest blog post. As a small business, we appreciate every comment and share. Tell us: what would you like to see at our booth this year?

I am so looking forward to seeing 49th Apparel again. I have just about worn out a nightgown I purchased a number of years ago and definitely need another. They are so comfy and warm, not to mention made in Canada. Another friend also purchased one 3 years ago and she needs another one. See you soon…..
