THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE, WHERE WE WORK, AND WHERE WE PLAY.
49th Apparel is located in Northern Ontario where the Great Lakes meet - in the heart of downtown Sault Ste. Marie, on historical Queen St. West. We are surrounded by nature, with the majestic north shore of Lake Superior just a skip, hop and jump away. We also get to enjoy a historical downtown with arts & culture, shopping, great food and farmers' markets, with sprouting new businesses started by local entrepreneurs. We love our city and the Algoma region!
SAULT STE. MARIE : DID YOU KNOW?:
Local slang: The locals call it #thesoo
Cottage, Camp or Cabin?: We call it Camp!
Science: Roberta Bondar, a Sault native, was Canada's first female astronaut in space.
Art: The Group of Seven painted their Canadian landscapes in the Algoma region from 1918-1923.
GIVING BACK : A COMMUNITY WITH A BIG HEART!
49th Apparel is proud to be able to give back to the community!
The CARDIAC CLOTHING COLLECTIVE puts on an annual fashion fundraiser to benefit the Sault Area Hospital, hosted by Dr. Joanna Lamberts, Dr. Bridget Lamberts, Tasha Varpio and curated by Daryl Wier of 49th Apparel.
The venue (the Machine Shop) is transformed into a boutique-like setting where guests can enjoy refreshments and entertainment while shopping a collection of preloved, high-end designer fashion, and at the same time, feel good about supporting cardiac care at the local hospital.
It really brings the community together; many local businesses sponsor and participate in the event and generous donations come piling in from closets across Sault Ste. Marie. And at the end of it all, whatever is left over gets donated to local charities.
In just two years running, the Cardiac Clothing Collective has raised close to $30,000!
