Flip Flop Fever
I have finally embraced the flip flop! I must admit that my opinion on this very versatile footwear has been somewhat negative as of late. For years flip flops always seemed, to me at least, like something that should be saved for the beach, certainly not to wear out for a day of shopping or for lunch with friends. I also found them to be somewhat of a cop-out, the lazy man/ women’s alternative to summer footwear. ......" I don't know what to put on my feet, so I’ll just wear these! Perhaps because I am older now or maybe I too am lazy, but I now LOVE this simple style of sandals!
Lately I find myself suggesting to my customers that the Flip Flop is OK to pair with that cotton dress, or even those capris & sexy summer sweater! The reason is simple if worn correctly and of course in moderation they make everyone feel young again, how great is that. Pair this feeling with the fact that you can find GREAT flip flops out there for fewer than 20 bucks & this is an awesome fashion fix for the summer!
A few things to remember about flip flops!
1) Do NOT wear them every day with everything - they are GREAT, just not that GREAT! And you will ruin your feet!
2) Ladies, PLEASE if you are going to wear them you must put some effort into your feet, please no work boot toes! Chipped toe nail polish & cracked heels...YIKES! Get or give yourself a pedicure!
3) Make sure you flip flops are in good repair, I actually have seen duct tape on one woman’s. (Come to think of it perhaps this is why I disliked them for so long....LOL) NO Duct Tape!
Funny that summer seems almost over & I am just now writing about sandals, sadly we have certainly not had the warmest weather here in Sault Ste. Marie this year - what a perfect segueway for me to let you know that fall goods have started to arrive daily & they have been selling!
